Deddy Irianto spent half of his life in the United States, right after studying Business Management dan Finance, where he worked until he got tired of seeing numbers strewn all over computer screens and decided to fly back home to Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, get married, and take up the family business. A while later, his passion for fine arts started to get the better of the day, and another turning point was to be found in 2002 as he opened up this gallery.

Mr. Irianto tends to see himself, in the context of Indonesian fine arts, as someone whose role 'is just to provoke actions'. Indeed, the unconventional ideas he espouses have been causing commotion from time to time, while his unorthodox approach to the business has also been the talk of the town (see, for example, the gallery's Fine Art Workshop).
